Argentinian futures market Rofex to work with Bitcoins

As Bloomberg reports, Rofex (or Mercado de Termino de Rosario) may soon engage in Bitcoin operations.

The company is planning to provide customers with custody services for cryptocurrency and to use Bitcoin for futures trading.

The head of Rofex Diego Fernandez stated that the company’s specialists were elaborating the idea, but an important announcement would be made by the end of the year. He believes that the shift to the cryptocurrency will help the company to grow business and opportunities.

“I would like to trade futures using Bitcoins, because it is our core business. However, this involves the need to build an index and a number of other technical aspects,” Fernandez said.

Moreover, the company will have to seek for the approval of the National Securities Commission in order to shift to the cryptocurrency.
